1. Removing an unclaimed listing

Some listings were created from publicly available information without the business's involvement. They are labeled unclaimed.

If you own a business and want your listing gone, we will remove it. We do not argue about this, and we do not require you to justify the request.

Email [SUPPORT EMAIL] with subject "Listing Removal," the listing URL, and enough information for us to confirm you're connected to the business — an email at the business domain, a phone call we place to the listed number, or a business license.

We remove within 5 business days and suppress the listing so automated processes don't recreate it.

Removal is permanent unless you ask us to restore it.

2. Correcting a listing

Anyone can report inaccurate information using the Suggest an edit control on any listing. Business owners can edit directly from their dashboard once they've claimed the listing.

For corrections from non-owners, we verify against public sources or with the business before publishing a change. Corrections we can confirm are usually live within 5 business days.

3. Competing ownership claims

If two people claim the same listing:

  1. We freeze the listing in its current state and suspend any Verified designation.
  2. We contact both claimants and ask each for evidence of authority — business license, incorporation documents, control of the business's registered domain or listed phone number, or a partner organization's confirmation.
  3. Within 10 business days we award the claim to the party with the stronger showing of authority.
  4. If we genuinely cannot determine who has authority, the listing stays frozen and unclaimed, with no badge, until the parties resolve it or one provides better evidence.

We do not adjudicate ownership disputes between business partners. That is a matter for the parties and their counsel. Our only decision is who may control the listing, and we will freeze rather than guess.

4. Verification challenges

See the Verification Policy for the full process. In summary: acknowledged in 3 business days, business notified and given 10 business days to respond, determination within 30 days, challenger identity never disclosed to the business, one appeal available.

5. Review disputes

See the Review & Moderation Policy. In summary: acknowledged in 3 business days, decided in 10, reviewer identity never disclosed absent valid legal process.

6. Content that harms a person

If content on BuildBLK threatens you, harasses you, publishes your private information, or otherwise endangers you, email [SUPPORT EMAIL] with subject "Abuse Report" and we will act within 1 business day. For anything involving an immediate threat to safety, contact local law enforcement first, then tell us so we can preserve evidence.

We remove doxxing, threats, and content sexualizing minors immediately on discovery, without waiting for a dispute process.

7. Legal demands and law enforcement requests

Send legal process to: [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], Attn: Legal, [ADDRESS], [LEGAL EMAIL]

A demand letter is not legal process. We will read it and respond, but we will not remove lawful content or disclose user information because someone's attorney asked us to.

8. Appeals

Any decision under this procedure can be appealed once, within 30 days, to [APPEALS EMAIL].

9. Bad-faith requests

This process exists to fix real problems. We will decline to act on, and may restrict accounts responsible for, requests that are:

Knowingly false DMCA notices carry liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

10. Internal record-keeping

Requirement for the build: every request under this procedure is logged with a case ID, receipt timestamp, requester, category, actions taken, decision, decision-maker, and closure date. Records are retained three (3) years.

This log is what lets us answer "did you have a process, and did you follow it?" — which is the question that actually matters if a decision is ever challenged. A process we can't prove we followed is worth very little.
